Strange Fruit - Billie Holiday (My Punk Rock Cover) (20th Century Revolution)
Please take a couple of minutes to watch this video. I covered this song by Billie Holiday, which was one of the first anti-racism protest songs in America, sung by an African-American woman nonetheless. I flipped the track into a punk rock song, sung and played guitar, then created a video to show just how relevant the song is today. The fight for civil rights is never over, until true equality is achieved. In today’s society, despite efforts of people shown in the video (JFK, MLK, and Harvey Milk), people are still discriminated against, whether it be because they are of a different race, or of a different sexual orientation. Lets start a revolution! Please watch and reblog!
I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. That is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.
